There are certain conditions that needs to be met if you are entitled to receive benefits or wage when you are ill.

Sickness benefits from your employer

You must have been employed for at least 8 weeks continuously and have had 74 hours of work to be entitled to receive sickness benefits in Denmark.

The sickness benefit is not identical with your wage, but your employer will pay the benefit and get a refund from the public authorities.

Documentation

After 4 weeks of illness, your employer will call you in for an interview about your return to work.
